Camp Gan Izzy
Camp Gan Izzy (CGI) is part of the largest and fastest growing network of Jewish day camps in the world. CGI enjoys a well-earned reputation as a trendsetter with innovative ideas, creative programs and new activities.
Many a child has been known to wait all year to come back to Gan Israel! Campers enjoy a wide range of exciting activities and field trips in a warm and vivacious Jewish atmosphere. Camp Gan Israel Poway is a “one of a kind” Jewish summer & seasonal day camp located in Poway. For kids going into 1st – 6th grade and a teen boys adventure camp for middle school boys in 7th & 8th grade. Every day at camp is an exciting adventure with friends, Rabbi Mendy and our attentive, caring counselors. Camp activities include (depending on the season) swimming, exciting field trips, competitions, sports, baking, crafts, Challah braiding, games, singing, scavenger hunts & Shabbat parties. Our low counselor to camper ratios ensure a safe time for all. Camp Gan Israel is much more than a physical break from the school routine and winter activities. It’s a comprehensive program designed to strengthen the body and soul. It provides your child with a rich and wholesome summer vacation of fun and excitement along with friendship and meaningful educational experiences.
There is a preschool “Camp Gan Israel” program for children from 6 weeks old to 5 years which is run by the Chai Preschool. The camps are at the same location but are separate organizations.
Camp Gan Izzy is based out of the Chabad of Poway. Our highly secured air conditioned facility has a state of the art game room, outdoor playground, large social hall.

Camp Gan Israel has become part of an annual summer routine. Once out of school, it is time to see our camp family! We have always been really impressed with the level of attention, courtesy and caring extended to our three children. Rabbi Mendy and Morah Bluma are very warm and welcoming. We also appreciate the diverse programming with each week filled with fun activities and mini- field trips! The communication with parents is excellent and the updated daily photos are great! Our kids LOVE CGI camps. We’ve been participating in CGI camps for 4 years. Our boys love the variety and flexibility of the activities. The counselors are warm and welcoming. Bluma is the best organizer and Rabbi Mendy is all about fun. My kids prefer to go to CGI rather than YMCA or any other camp in town. They make new friends and are in a Jewish educational environment. We just learned that they know so many Jewish traditional stories just from participating in CGI camps. You won’t be able to find a camp with such reasonable prices like CGI. We are always looking forward to hear about the next upcoming camp.

Our daughter has attended Camp Gan Israel in Poway for a few years. We have been very happy with her camp experience. The activities planned each week are fun, exciting and variable so that the children are well stimulated and eager to find out what activities are planned for each day. The outings planned have been very enjoyable for the children and many have encouraged a love of nature. From going on local hikes, observing the growth of chicks, to visiting museums and Legoland, each day has been thoroughly enjoyed. The children are well taken care of in a nurturing environment where their Jewish identity is fostered. Our daughter has always enjoyed her days at camp in a safe, happy environment. I would readily recommend this camp to all parents looking for structured summer activities.
